  I make HR easy for small business owners who want to “get on with running their business”.  I want to empower you to understand HR, so you have the confidence to engage and manage your staff, helping your business to thrive.  You might not know where to start with HR in your business, but I do!

My Professional Bio

I am a Chartered MCIPD HR Mentor & Business Coach with over 20 years’ experience of coaching, mentoring and leading businesses of all sizes and in all sectors manage their people.  I am also a trained development coach, an assessor, a trainer and certified in psychometric testing.   

My entire career has been in HR and staff development coaching.  I have worked across private, public and voluntary sectors; been a management consultant (including 4 years with Big 4 and 4 years with global top 10); been both a HR Manager and a Staff Development Manager; as well as being an associate lecturer in HR and Organisational Behaviour with the University of Ulster for 10 years.   

I left the corporate world in 2012 to embrace my dream of being an entrepreneur and opened my own boutique HR consultancy based in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland.  I fell in love with owner managed small businesses very early in my career. I love the passion and drive you have for your business and the work that you do.

Now I have made it my mission to make HR easy for small business owners everywhere.

My Philosophy

I passionately believe that good HR is not just for large businesses, it is for every business no matter how small, unique or niche whether you have one employee or one thousand, you deserve good HR.

More than anything I believe that the best HR is informal HR, where business owners and managers talk to their staff on a daily basis. When wins are celebrated and losses are seen as a learning opportunity not a failure.

However, there are times when businesses need to turn to more formal HR techniques e.g. managing probation, dealing with a grievance allegation, investigating a disciplinary case, issuing a formal warning.

As your HR Mentor I want you to share my belief that informal HR is always the best way.  But I also want to empower you to have the confidence to use formal HR when necessary without being afraid or uncertain. I want to ensure that you know exactly what to do, what documents you need, be aware in advance of the potential challenges that may arise and be ready to manage your HR with the same confidence you sell your favourite product to your customers.

My Methods

I explain every term and clause in simple English and not complicated legal speak. I don’t hide behind jargon, I am there by your side.

I am honest and as your HR Mentor I will tell you exactly what I would do in the difficult staff situations you have to face.  To make it easy I can even give you a script if that is what you need.

I help you to develop a HR strategy and plan so that your business is focusing on the right HR policies and practices to engage with your staff and retain key talent. An engaged workforce is a happy one.

How I Make HR Easy For My Clients


I am a fully qualified HR Professional entitled to use the designation of Chartered MCIPD from the Institute of Personnel & Development. I pride myself in adhering to our institute standards and professional code of ethics. I am not “winging it”!!


When you pick up the phone or drop me an email – it will always be me who deals with your query. I am not a faceless contact in a call centre. I am real person, someone who will take the time to meet you and get to know about your business.


I have 20 years post-graduate experience in providing real life HR advice and solutions to business owners. There is very little that shocks me in HR so don’t worry about telling me what mistakes you have made there is a high probability you are not the first! I won’t judge.


My mission is to make HR easy for my clients. I go over and above to provide the right solutions to the issues they are facing. I stand beside (and often in front) of them when they are dealing with difficult situations.
